Where to Find Bridport Action
Rather than actually trying to list everything that's happening in Bridport, which is a large job, we show here the good sources of this information that already exist, as well as telling you about the venues where it's happening.
You can have a good time in Bridport without having to look up where to go on the Internet... just look at the Noticeboard in Buckydoo Square, behind the Town Hall. The large three-armed public noticeboard has a huge array of flyers giving details of gigs, shows, workshops, classes and more. Everyone whose organising anything knows to put the details here (and so can you). There's also a good noticeboard outside Fruits of the Earth in Victoria Grove, just of West Street.
The Bridport Radio website has a well stocked listing of What's On. Click the link from their front page.
The Electric Palace Cinema has a variety of events including talks by well known personalities, comedy, theatre and films. They also have gigs, and a bar that is open to the public (on some nights) whether attending an event or not.
For regular and current events, check The Bridport Bulletin Board sponsored by The Book Shop on their website.
Bridport Tourist Information Centre has details of many local events. You can find some here.
The Best of Bridport directory has an events listing that contained useful information when we looked in November 2008 - here.

Their website states their aim as being to provide "...the best cup of coffee in the area..." and to "...create a continental coffee house atmosphere...". They have basckground and live music ranging from light jazz and latin to blues and funk depending on the time of day, with evenings being quite lively. Their events page is here but when we looked it was somewhat out of date though it will give you a flavour of their evening offerings. They're open late, sometimes until 2am, so are definitely worth a try for that late finish the evening drink.
